Trim off any black, brown, mushy, or foul-smelling roots with clean scissors or pruning shears, leaving only firm, healthy roots. Repot the plant in fresh, well-draining soil and a pot with drainage holes, then water carefully to avoid keeping the roots too wet.
After repotting, apply Root Supplement as directed by mixing 1 teaspoon into 2 cups of water and watering the plant normally. Continue using it every 2 weeks while the plant recovers. Place the plant in bright, indirect light, avoid fertilizing heavily until it stabilizes, and let the soil dry appropriately between waterings.
